Yoga practitioners enjoy their indoor Selfies

Ms. Kasperzak (@LauraSykora) is one of the most popular in a group, mostly women, who post photos of themselves posing in side Crow or handstand on the photo sharing application, often wear brightly patterned leggings.

"It is still shocking to me of the disciples how many I have," said Ms. Kasperzak, who lives in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, works for a software company and yoga for 16 years. At first I thought, 'if I get 100, I will be happy." And then my goal. ?

To keep entertained them, Ms. Kasperzak did a lot of movements that indra Devi ever want on the day of his birthday where she posted a photo of herself upside down, eat a cupcake.

Camera skills also help. Before last October, Masumi Goldman, 35, a friend from high school Ms. Kasperzak and amateur photographer, who lives in nearby Tenafly, had never done yoga. She started practicing to help relieve pain in his hips and posted the photos on Instagram (@masumi_g), where it has more than 40,000 followers.

"What is important is if your photos are looking for attractive," said Ms. Goldman. "Come, I started as seven months ago. "There are many other yogis who are better than me, but I have a good camera that takes pretty pictures."

She stressed the importance of a serene area of practice. "You do not to pay attention to the composition of the picture", she said. "If you take your picture in front of your TV, or if you have dirty dishes in the sink, it doesn't matter how good your leggings are."

Indeed, Caitlin Turner, 27, a teacher of yoga in Scottsdale, Arizona, has picked up more than 40,000 followers: Instagram like @GypsetGoddess by imagining his practice in exotic locations, such as the Galapagos Islands; Ecuador; and Chiang Mai, Thailand, generally using a self-timer on his iPhone (she found that foreigners who are invited to take a picture is 'weirded').

Ms. Turner loves leggings flamboyants of brands like Teeki or black milk clothing. A pair that looks like Mermaid scales are a favorite, and a recent shot of her in a pose permanent tire to the arc-lui watch half wearing stripes fuchsia and orange below. 'Fashion and yoga are just similar', she said. "The two I love being gay."

Some more traditional practitioners could disparage what they consider purely ego or vanity driven selfies. After all, yoga is not supposed to be about turning your gaze inwards?

And Leslie Schipper, a yogi in Honolulu, cautioned beginners against trying to measure up to the selfies.

But for those who are determined to disseminate their poses to the world, Robert Sturman, 43, an artist who specializes in pictures of yoga and teaches occasional workshops on "Mastering the Art of Yoga Photography" in Santa Monica, California and New York, has advice.

Take the photo more down a point of view as can be, said, because it makes the pose and the person making, looks more powerful. (But stay away from the crotch area).

"We live in a world where images are the most important means of communication there is," said Mr. Sturman. "I know how to do the yoga photos to look beautiful, and I might as well share it."
